Building A Life You Love While Letting God Lead

For a long time, I thought building a life I loved and fully surrendering to God were two separate things.

Almost like I had to choose.

Either I followed God wholeheartedly and let go of my desires, dreams, and sense of beauty…
or I chased a life that felt exciting, meaningful, and full and hoped God would bless it from afar.

Maybe you’ve felt that way too.

Wanting to trust God with everything, but also wanting a life that feels alive and exciting. A life you’re proud of. A life that feels like you.

Somewhere along the way, we picked up the idea that letting God lead means limiting ourselves. Lowering our expectations. Settling for less joy, less creativity, less desire.

But that has never been true.

The more I’ve walked with God, the more I’ve realized this:
He’s not opposed to you loving your life. He’s actually invested in it.

God isn’t asking you to stop dreaming. He’s asking to be invited into your dreams.
He’s not asking you to abandon your desires. He’s asking to come into your heart and shape them.
He’s not trying to take the joy out of your life. He’s trying to anchor it in something that won’t disappear when things change or life falls into a different season.

Building a life you love doesn’t mean forcing your own plan at all costs.
And letting God lead doesn’t mean passively waiting for everything to magically fall into place.

It’s a partnership.

It looks like waking up and choosing to show up, even when motivation is low.
It looks like taking responsibility for your habits, your mindset, and your environment while also praying, listening, and trusting God with the outcome.
It looks like doing the work and surrendering control.

You don’t have to choose between a life that’s beautiful and one that’s meaningful.

You can live a life you love with God at the center.

God works through action just as much as He works through stillness.

Sometimes letting God lead looks like moving forward in obedience.
Other times, it looks like being courageous.
Sometimes it looks like resting.
And sometimes it looks like finally taking the step you’ve been afraid to take.

Contrary to what a lot of people believe, following God doesn’t strip you of your personality, your creativity, or your desires. If anything, it brings you closer to who you were always meant to be.

I’ve learned that a life built with God doesn’t feel like a life filled with rule and restrictions. It feels like alignment.

And the best part? You don’t have to have it all figured out to start.

You can be unsure and still take the next right step.
You can be healing and still building something purposeful.
You can trust God deeply and still want more for your life.

This is what Her Sunday Best has always been about.

Not waiting until life looks perfect to start living it.
Not postponing joy for “someday.”
Not believing your best life is only found once you arrive somewhere else.

It’s about building a life you genuinely love, right where you are, while allowing God to guide the process, refine your heart, and open the doors that actually matter.

You’re allowed to care about your mornings.
Your routines.
Your goals.
Your home.
Your health.
Your growth.

Those things don’t pull you away from God when they’re rooted in Him. If anything, they bring you closer.

So if you’re in a season of wanting more, but also wanting God…
If you feel the desire to grow, but don’t want to lose your faith in the process…

You’re not doing anything wrong.

You’re learning how to build a life that’s both beautiful on the inside and out and deeply rooted in God.

And that kind of life is SO beautiful.

And it’s absolutely possible.

Praying for you always, beautiful girl.
