The Post-Holiday Reset Every Girl Needs This Weekend

Thanksgiving week always feels full in the best way. There are people you love, good food, travel, cozy moments, and memories you do not want to rush through. When it is over, there is a moment where your body and mind say, “That was lovely, but I need a second.”

If you are feeling a little bloated, tired, or off your routine right now, I promise you are not alone. Nothing is wrong with you. You did not mess up. You are not behind. Your body just went through a fun and busy few days, and it is completely normal to feel that shift.

This weekend is not the time to jump into a strict routine or “make up” for all of the extra yummy food you ate. It is a chance to slow down, be gentle with yourself, and ease back into feeling good again. Think slow mornings, warm drinks, simple and nutritious meals, and cozy moments that help you settle into a new week and a new month before the next round of holidays.

Here are a few things I am focusing on this weekend, and you can try them too.

1. Start Your Morning Slowly

Let yourself wake up without rushing. Make something warm to drink. Put on a comfortable outfit you love. Open the blinds and take a moment before anything else. Remember all of the things you are thankful for. Your body deserves a slow reset after a busy week.

2. Release Any Food Guilt

You are allowed to enjoy holiday food. You are allowed to celebrate. You are allowed to eat seconds and dessert without punishing yourself afterward.

This weekend is not about “making up for it.” It is simply about supporting your body in a way that feels good.

That might look like:

  • making a simple, fresh meal

  • drinking extra water

  • adding some veggies because your body feels better with them

  • eating at normal times again

This is about nourishment, not restriction.

3. Choose Light, Feel-Good Movement

Skip anything intense. Do something that helps your body slowly reset.

Try:

  • a walk in the fresh air

  • stretching in your living room

  • a short Pilates flow

  • a few minutes of movement in a cute matching set that makes you feel put together (lovee this one<3)

Movement should feel grounding and supportive, not like a punishment.

4. Reset One Space You Use Every Day

You do not need to clean your entire home. Just pick one spot that impacts your mood.

This could be:

  • your nightstand

  • your kitchen

  • your bathroom counter

  • your bed

A small clean up can change the energy of your entire weekend.

5. Take a Break From Your Phone

The post-holiday scroll can make your mind feel cluttered. Try to step away for even 20 minutes.

Use that time to read, journal, pray, or simply sit in the quiet. Creating space for your own thoughts can feel surprisingly refreshing.

6. Make a Gentle Plan for Next Week

Keep it simple and realistic.

You might want to:

  • choose a few meals to cook

  • plan movement that feels doable

  • write down two or three priorities

  • set an intention for the new month

December can be peaceful if you allow it to be.

7. Do Something That Makes You Happy

Joy matters. Choose one thing that brings you genuine happiness.

Maybe you want to:

  • watch a cozy movie

  • decorate for the holidays

  • bake something

  • get a latte

  • call someone you love

  • go for a relaxing drive

  • get a Christmas tree <3

Small joys make everything feel so much lighter and they are my favorite way to shift the mood.

Final Thoughts

If you feel a little off after the holiday, give yourself grace. It is completely normal. You do not need to rush into extreme routines or fix yourself. You can take your time.

Let this weekend be soft and gentle. Support your body in small ways, choose habits that feel good, and ease into the new week and new month with calm and clarity. You deserve to feel good, and you can get there in a way that is kind to your body and mind. Plus, the holidays only come once a year and they are so special. Enjoy them!

Praying for you always,

Laura <3
